ReSource is Australia’s largest e-waste and battery recycling facility. We process electronics and batteries for major retailers, councils and government across Victoria.
We’re looking for 2 reliable people to join our Derrimut site for a short-term role of around 4 to 5 weeks. There’s a chance it leads to ongoing work — more on that below.
Up front – what this job is:
This is simple, repetitive, hands-on sorting work. You’ll spend your day hand-picking and separating materials on the factory floor. There’s no experience needed and nothing complicated to learn — but we’ll be straight with you: it’s basic work and it can get monotonous. What matters to us is that it’s done carefully and accurately, because the results feed into an important piece of work behind the scenes.
If you can stay focused and do a careful job on a repetitive task without cutting corners, you’re exactly who we’re after.
What you’ll be doing:
- Hand-sorting and separating recovered materials into bins and buckets
- Picking out metals and removing contamination from material coming off our processing line
- Working steadily and accurately through the day
- Keeping your work area clean and safe
What we need from you:
- Reliable and punctual — our day starts early, at 6:30am
- Able to do repetitive, physical, on-your-feet work all day
- Careful and accurate — you take pride in doing a job properly
- Good attitude and strong work ethic
- Full working rights in Australia
The details:
- Temporary role — around 4 to 5 weeks
- Hours: 6:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
- Immediate start
- Derrimut location — easy access from the Western suburbs
Is it really just temporary?
Yes – and we’re being upfront about it. We are not dressing up a permanent job as a short-term one to get people in the door. This is short-term work, plain and simple. That said, we’re a growing business and always on the lookout for good people. If you prove yourself over the few weeks — reliable, accurate, good attitude — there’s a strong chance of ongoing work once this finishes. No promises and no guarantees: it comes down entirely to how you perform and the attitude you bring.
