Work amongst an experienced team to implement a broadacre yield trial program for a global agricultural company.

The role itself?
In this role you will be involved in the establishment and management of the Yield Trial research program with the guidance from a senior technician. You will ensure the delivery of high quality trial sites, managed for optimal agronomic performance with close attention paid to crop nutrition, plant health, trial presentation, site hygiene and timely operations.
Your day to day activities in this role will include:
- Identifying trial sites and liaising with cooperators
- Marking out trial sites according to company and industry policy
- Irrigation systems operation and management
- Safely operating a forklift and HC truck (licensing/training can be provided once in role)
- Trained in use of drone data capture
- Developing and maintaining relationships with all colleagues, auxiliary staff and managers
- Ensuring that program is developed and implemented, with consultation with colleagues and operations manager
- Communicating and liaising with all colleagues in a professional and timely manner
- Setting up planters, sprayers and harvest equipment
- Ensuring detailed and accurate reports are submitted and that strategies and tactics are appropriately updated as approved.
- Showing initiative and an ability to learn new skills and tasks demonstrated by senior research technician
What kind of person will fit the role?
The perfect person for this role would be someone with tertiary plant science qualifications, proven academic communication skills and previous exposure to a broadacre farming system. A person that has an ability to communicate, maintain and develop relationships whilst providing quality analysis and information.
